Release Train Engineer/Agile Program Manager

Program:  This role is for a large enterprise level program involving a series of projects creating a modern Web Platform for a global user base.  There are 20+ scrum teams using Agile / SAFe - Scaled Agile methodology, and primarily Microsoft stack as well as other technologies such as SharePoint and SFDC.  This particular role will be responsible, as Release Train Engineer / Agile Program Manager, for 4+ Scrum teams that are distributed between York, PA, Colombia and Mexico.

End Customer: Fortune 500 corporation, multi-national, multi-industrial, with presence in over 150 countries.  This is a high visibility / complex  project with high executive support, previous successful releases, and lots of opportunities to learn, work with a very talented team and make a significant impact to the business.    

​​Role Description

  1. Ability to act in the role of an RTE (Release Train Engineer) for 4-5 teams as part of large enterprise program, working closely with PMO and business leadership

  2. Listen and support teams in problem identification and decision-making
  3. Coach people with powerful questions rather than use authority.
  4. Think beyond day-to-day activities; apply leadership thinking to assist teams in growth
  5. Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities
  6. Assist in Coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Enterprise/Program Agile practices and mindsets
  7. Assist in identifying Risks, issues and blockers
  8. Help Track, Manage and facilitate risks, issues, and blockers
  9. Escalate program impediments
  10. Provide Agile Onboarding for new SelNav Scrum teams
  11. Ability to step in and be a Scrum Master if and as needed
  12. Work with Program team in continuous improvement
  13. Working knowledge of TFS (Team Foundation Server)
  14. Assist in the maintenance of TFS
  15. Assist in the PI Planning Preparation
  16. Knowledge of SAFe 4.0 – Preferably on a safe 4.0 project
  17. Knowledge of Scalable Agile
  18. Ability and knowledge to instruct and execute:
    1. Epic/Feature Creation
    2. User Story creation
    3. Perform effective cadences
    4. Backlog updates, changes and prioritization
    5. Team dependencies
  19. Team Status reports
    1. Ensuring that we have Weekly/Monthly updated status
  20. Tracking of ancillary activities outside of the agile role
    1. Setting Activities/Tasks for outside teams
    2. Following up with outside teams on deliverables to program
      1. (Issue, Risk, Timelines, Deliverables Dependencies)
  21. Working jointly with the overall program continuous improvement
