Scrum Master for Large Scale Multi-team Program

Duration: 12 to 18 months 

Role Description:   Scrum Master for 2 teams to be part of a large enterprise level project developing a global web based application and using Agile methodology / SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework)

Program / Project:  This role is for a large enterprise level program involving a series of projects creating a modern Web Platform for a global user base.  There are 20+ scrum teams using Agile / SAFe - Scaled Agile methodology, and primarily Microsoft stack as well as other technologies such as SharePoint and SFDC.  This particular role will be responsible for 2 scrum teams that are distributed across York, PA, Colombia and Mexico.

End Customer: Fortune 500 corporation, multi-national, multi-industrial, with presence in over 150 countries.  This is a high visibility / complex  project with high executive support, previous successful releases, and lots of opportunities to learn, work with a very talented team across the US and Latin America  and make a significant impact to the business.    


Responsibilities:

  1.     Guide team/organization on Agile/Scrum practices
  2.     Participation in Scrum Master Community of Practice

  3.     Servant Leader during SAFe Ceremonies (Planning, Standup, Iteration Review/Demo, Retrospectives, Refinement, Stakeholder Demo, Scrum of Scrums)   

  4.     Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Ready 
  5.     Guide the team/organization on self-organizing 
  6.     Remove impediments/guide personnel to remove impediments
  7.     Build a trusting and safe environment, emphasizing problem solving
  8.     Facilitate completion of work, without coercion, assignment, or dictating
  9.     Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  10.     Support and educate the Product Owner with maintaining the product backlog
  11.     Enable team to meet commitments & contribute to customer goals

Required skills:

  1.  At least 7 years of relevant IT/Engineering experience leading software development teams
  2.  Served as a Scrum Master for at least four years for a software development team
  3.  Certified as a first level Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I)

  4.  Skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  5.  Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach
  6. Experience with any of the major Agile tools, such as TFS, Rally, JIRA

 
Nice to have Skills/Experience:

  1. SAFe
  2. Experience in the Engineering / Manufacturing Industry
  3. Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  4. Knowledge of Agile approaches including XP, Kanban, Crystal, and FDD
  5. Applicable knowledge of web development / ASP.NET technology used by the team
  6. Knowledge/Experience with Agile techniques including User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
